In cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), TAJDID Iraq Foundation for Economic Development conducted two training workshops
at the Palestine International Hotel for the period 20-23 / 6/2018 and 25-28 / 6/2018. The workshops were attended by 50 female social workers working in (UNFPA) Women’s Community Centers spread in several governorates of Iraq, including (Anbar, Mosul, Baghdad, Karbala, Najaf, Babylon).
The objective of the training was to improve the skills of these trainees in the Case Management of gender-based violence GBV. The training sessions included the following topics:
- The types, consequences and causes of gender-based violence
- The relationship of force and violence based on gender
- The views and perceptions of society about gender-based violence
- How to manage the situation of women exposed to violence in terms of receiving, dealing, supporting and empowering women
- 5 – How to deal with survivors of marital violence and marriage of minors and violence against people with physical and mental disabilities of women
- The main roles of social researchers in the work
- Communication skills
